Your English seapking driver will pick you up from your hotel in Phnom Penh and heading to Battambang with a few stops on way, where you able to explore the local interested attractions during your experience on national road #5, Link from Phnom Penh to Battambang.
After 45 minutes to 1 hour drive, we fist stop and see:
- Oudong Mountain (Ancient City of Oudong): was an ancient city of the post-Angkorian period (1618-1863 C.E), and consist of many archaeological findings left from Pre-Angkor, Angkor and Post-Angkorian periods such as sandstone architectural elements and artefacts resulting from the worship of Animism, Hindusim, Mahayana Buddhism, and Theravada Buddhism. Today Oudong is well-known as a tourist attraction site due to its historical background as an ancient city of the post-Angkorian period, and persistent religious and cult beliefs maintain the mystical sacred aspect of the site.
- Red Clay Pottery: The creation of pottery and other decorative items from red clay is an ancestral tradition for the local people of Kampong Chhnang province, especially those in the Andong Russey, Kdei Tnaot and Trapeang Sbov villages, who have maintained this legacy of skilled craftsmanship and passed it from one generation to another up through the present day.
- Kampong Luong (The Floating Village on Tonle Sap): Kompong Luong is a large floating village on Tonle Sap Lake, the village offers the opportunity to visitors to discover the everyday life of Cambodian families on the Tonle Sap lake. The families live in floating houses with a constant movement of boats that brings people and goods to the village. The village consist of both Cambodian community and Vietnamese community both living in the same floating village.
