Overview:

Explore history temples meet the locals who live in rural villages & learn about their way of life of Cambodian. Starting from a charming capital city of Phnom Penh, you’ll also learn about Cambodia’s tragic past at Killing Fields, and celebrate its present at the Silver Pagoda, Royal Palace, National Museum and Independence Monument. Head to Kratie the gateway to an encounter with the rare freshwater Irrawaddy dolphins with some of the best sunsets. Back to Kampong Thom unlock Pre-Angkorian Temple of Sambor Prei Kuk, and climb to the top of the world heritage Preah Vihear temple, before heading to the capital of the Khmer Empire at Angkor. We select the best of temples including the world’s largest religious monument at Angkor Wat, the enigmatic and enchanting Bayon and the atmospheric Ta Prohm, consumed by jungle and fighting a losing battle with nature.

DETAIL ITINERARY


DAY 1: (Arrived Phnom Penhvisit to Royal Palace – Silver Pagoda – National Museum – Cheung Ek Killing Field – Toul Sleng Genocide (S21) and Boat Cruise for Royal Palace and city view.


You will welcome by one of our local tour guide and driver at Phnom Penh International Airport or your hotel lobby, then escort for your sightseeing to:

Afternoon: 14.00PM after relax for your lunch then continue to visit.

#1 Cheung Ek Killing Field: the site of a former orchard and mass grave of victims of the Khmer Rouge – killed between 1975 and 1979, Today, Choeung Ek is a memorial, marked by a Buddhist stupa and has acrylic glass sides and is filled with more than 5,000 human skulls.

#2 Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21 Victims): which was used as Security Prison 21 (S-21) by the Khmer Rouge regime from its rise to power in 1975 to its fall in 1979.

Evening Activities: your free leisure and Overnight in Phnom Penh.

DAY 2: (Phnom Penh – City Tour) visit to Independent Monument – Royal Palace – Silver Pagoda – National Museum – Wat Phnom – Central Market and Boat Cruise for Royal Palace and city view.


Morning: 8.00AM or your preferable timing, after breakfast your local tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby then escort you for the full day excursion to:

#1 Independent Monument: was built in 1958 to memorialize Cambodia’s independence from France in 1953.

#2 Royal Palace: is a complex of Khmer classic roofs buildings which serves as the royal residence of the king of Cambodia.

#3 Silver Pagoda: was inlaid with more than 5,000 silver tiles and many treasures such as gold and jeweled Buddha statues.

#4 National Museum: is largest museum of cultural history and is the country’s leading historical and archaeological museum.

Afternoon: 12.30PM – 14.30PM relax for your lunch then continue to visit.

#5 Wat Phnom: it was built in 1372, and stands 27 meters above the ground. It is the tallest religious structure in the city.

#6 Central/Russian Market: is the most popular market for tourists and expats and probably the best place to pick up souvenirs.

Evening Activities: Highly Recommended Boat cruise to see sunset on Tonle Sap river for Royal Palace and city view. and Overnight in Phnom Penh.

DAY 3: (Phnom Penh – KratieTransfer by private SUV/Minivan, Sightseeing attractions on the way such as Spider Market – Bamboo Bridge – Phnom Hunchey.


Morning: 7.00AM or your preferable timing, after breakfast your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby then escort you to Kratie, on the way stop and see:

#1 Skuon: affectionately known as ‘Spider market’, where it is possible to sample the local delicacy of deep fried tarantula and others insects and tropical fruit.

#2 – Bamboo Bridge: During dry season (Jan-May), we can visit the bamboo bridge built across the mighty Mekong River connecting mainland to Koh Pen Island.

#3 – Phnom Hanchey: the mountain can be climbed up by 295 beautiful stair steps, and has pagoda and the temple of Kuk made of ancient solid bricks each has seven-square meter size.

We then arrived Krong Kratie. Overnight in Kratie.

DAY 4: (KratieVisit to Phnom Sambok & Sambor – The 100 pillars pagoda – Mekong softsell turtle – Kampi Resort – Irrawaddy Dolphins


Morning: 7.45AM or your preferable timing, after breakfast your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby then escort to visit:

#1 – Phnom Sambok & Sambor: is a beautiful panoramic view of the countryside, especially the Mekong River

#2 – The 100 pillars pagoda: It was first built in the 16th century, the pagoda included 100 columns to commemorate the memory of his daughter of the king who was killed by Mekong crocodile.

#3 – Mekong Turtle Conservation Center: The project looks after baby turtle until they become big enough to protect themselves from big fish, snack, etc.

#4 – Kampi Resort: is the great natural resort for tourists both local and foreigner, enjoy swimming with clear water and relax for picnic lunch.

#5 – Boat cruise view for River Makong Dolphins: we jump in to a local boat and cruise out into the mighty Mekong for a chance encounter with these gentle mammals. Viewing is almost guaranteed. After enjoying an hour or more of dolphin viewing, we travel back to Kratie. Overnight in Kratie.

DAY 5: (Kratie – Kampong ThomTransfer by private SUV/Minivan, on the way stop and visit Rubber Plantation.


Morning: 7.00AM or your preferable timing, after breakfast your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby then escort you to Kampong Thom, on the way stop and see:

#1 Rubber Plantation: is one of the best investments one can make especially on rubber trees cultivation.

#2 Phnom Santok: is a hill and cultural site in the Cambodian, at the top is a white-walled temple and many shrines and deities, including several reclining Buddhas made out of rock.

We then arrived Kampong Thom check in to your comfortable hotel. Overnight in Kampong Thom.

DAY 6: (Kampong Thom Preah Vihear) visit to Group temples of Sambor Prei Kuk and Preah Khan Kampong Svay before Transfer by private SUV/Minivan, Preah Vihear province.


Morning: 8.30AM or your preferable timing, after breakfast your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby then escort you to Preah Vihear province, on the way stop and see:

#1 Sambor Prei Kuk: is an archaeological site, now the ruined complex dates back to the Pre-Angkorian Chenla Kingdom (late 6th to 9th century).

The whole compound is made of three clusters classified as group C for Central, N for North and S for South. They are enclosed in a double-walled encircling 1,000 acre in which there were 150 Hindu temples today mostly in ruins.

  • Group N:
    Prasat Sambor:  is considered the main temple and it dates from the 7th century. It was dedicated to one of the reincarnations of Shiva known as Gambhireshvara.
  • Group S:
    Prasat Yeah Puon: includes 22 sanctuaries dated from the 7th century (600 – 635 AD) during the reign of Isanavarman I in dedication to Shiva.
  • Group C:
    It is occupied by the Central Sanctuary or Prasat Boram with lion sculptures that had inspired the popular name of Prasat Tao (The Lions’ Temple). It is, however, the newest group dating the 9th century. The other main feature is the Tower of Ashram Issey, but there were also other constructions (18 temples) now in ruined (Palmer, 2011).

#2 Preah Khan Kampong Svay: It stands as the largest single religious complex ever built during Angkorian Era, as its exterior enclosure is about 5 km square, and residence during the kingdom of Suryavarman II and even Jayavarman VII lived here, before recapturing the capital city of Yasodharapura from invading Chams in 1181, and improved the complex.

We then arrived Preah Vihear province check in to your comfortable hotel. Overnight in Sra Em district.

DAY 7: (Preah Vihear – Siem Reap) Visit to Preah Vihear Temple – Koh Ker Group Then transfer by private SUV/Minivan to Siem Reap Province and enjoy beautiful scenery along the way.


Morning: 8.00AM or your preferable timing, after breakfast check out your hotel,  your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby then continue to visit:

#1 – Preah Vihear Temple: The Preah Vihear Temple locates at the top of the mountain, we need to transfer from our tourist SUV or Minivan to a 4X4 SUV to drive up the mountain. Preah Vihear Temple is an ancient Hindu temple built during the reign of the Khmer Empire on the top of a 525 meters height on the mountain. Even parts of the temple were destroyed during the history, it still looks magnificent and unique among the temples of Angkor. From the top of the mountain, you will also obtain a spectacular bird’s eye view of the land and view  Thailand from afar.

#2 – Koh Ker Group: consists of more than 180 sanctuaries in a protected area of 81 square kilometers, but now only around dozen monuments can be visited by tourists. The most famous temple is the seven tiered and 67 meters pyramid temple of Prasat ThomPrasat Pram with the trees growing on and it roots entwine other on the ruin temple Prasat Linga and Prasat Neang Khmao.

We then continue to Siem Reap and check in to a comfortable hotel, over in Krong Siem Reap.

DAY 8: (Siem ReapVisit: Banteay Srie – Phnom Kulen National Park – Waterfall – River of 1000 Lingas and Reclining Buddha


Morning: 7.30AM (before crowd) or your preferable timing, after breakfast your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby then escort to visit:

#1 Banteay Srie Temple: The temple was built largely of pink sandstone, a medium that lends itself to the elaborate decorative wall carvings which are still observable today. These factors have made the temple extremely popular with tourists, and have led to its being widely praised as a “precious gem“, or the “jewel of Khmer art.

#2 Phnom Kulen National Park: is considered a holy mountain in Cambodia, of special religious significance to Hindus and Buddhists who come to the mountain in pilgrimage and on the hill we can visit:

  • River of Thousand Lingas: carved on sandstone river bed with 6 meters wide along the river to the waterfall.
  • Reclining Buddha: which carved on the top of a huge rock in 16th century.
  • Waterfall: There are two waterfalls a short distance apart the higher one being the further, you can swim in waterfall, it’s beautiful and impressive.

Afternoon: 12.30pm relax for lunch on the mountain and enjoy your time. Then go back to Siem Reap, stop on the way at Sugar palm before go back to your.

Evening Activities: Highly recommend you to have dinner with Cambodia traditional Shows at Kulen II restaurant (12$ per person for dinner + shows). Please tell us if you want and then we can help you to book front seat for you. Overnight in Siem Reap.

DAY 9: (Siem ReapVisit Prasat Kravan – Pre Rup – East Mebon – Preah Ko – Tonle Sap Great Lake – Bakong temple.


Morning: 8.30AM (before crowd) or your preferable timing, after breakfast your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby then escort to visit:

#1 Preah Ko: was the first temple to be built in the ancient and now defunct city of Hariharalaya (in the area that today is called Roluos), consists of six brick towers arranged in two rows of three towers each perched on a sandstone platform.

#2 Bakong:

#3 Pre Rup: This is a Hindu mountain temple at Angkor, the temple combined of brick, laterite and sandstone construction, this reflects the common belief among Cambodians that funerals were conducted at the temple.

#4 East Mebon: It is the combination of sandstone, brick, laterite and stucco, temple stands on what was an artificial island at the center of the now dry up East Baray Reservoir.

Afternoon: 12.30PM – 13.30PM relax for lunch, your guide or diver will recommend a good local restaurant for you, then back to your hotel for a short nap and refreshing.

#5 Ta Som Temple: The temple consists of a single shrine located on one level and surrounded by enclosure laterite walls, with numerous trees and other vegetation growing among the ruins.

#6 Neak Pean Temple: Temple Originally designed for medical purposes (the ancients believed that going into these pools would balance the elements in the bather, thus curing disease); it is one of the many hospitals that Jayavarman VII built.

#7 Preah Khan Temple: The temple is flat in design, with a basic plan of successive rectangular galleries around a Buddhist sanctuary complicated by Hindu satellite temples and numerous later additions.  Khan has been left largely unrestored, with numerous trees and other vegetation growing among the ruins.

DAY 10: (Siem ReapVisit Sunrise – Angkor Wat – South gate of Angkor Thom – Bayon and highlight temples along the way – Ta Prohm – Tonle Sap Great Lake.


Note: Please ask your hotel to prepare a breakfast box for you. We will find a suitable place nearby the Angkor Wat temple for you for having breakfast.

Morning: 4.45AM or your preferable timing, your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby then escort to visit:

#1 – Sunrise: you will say wow and surprise while you at the temple in the dark time, and feel delighted with sun appear behind the towers of Angkor Wat temple.

#2 – Angkor Wat: the bigger religion construction in the world.

#3 – South Gate of Angkor Thom city: now used as the main entrance to the city of Angkor Thom, and become the most often visited for the tourist.
#4 – Bayon: the multitude of serene and smiling stone faces on the many towers.

#5 – Ta Prohm: the photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing on the ruins temple.

15.00AM – 18.00PM prick from hotel then transfer to Kampong Phluk
Afterwards we go Cruise to see the Kampong Phluk the village with Houses on Stilt and the daily activities of Fisherman. The houses sit on tall stilts which for the most of the year are fully submerged in water. Some houses can even be as high as 10 – 12 meters. Every year, the Tonle Sap floods the surrounding areas and provides life to the region. On the surface of Tonle Sap Lake, you’ll see the activities of local people on their fishing, schools, clinics, homes, and even small shops. You can watch how the local people are able to live on the water

#2 – Wat Ek PhnomThe ancient temple, built of sandstone blocks and enclosed by the remains of a laterite outer wall and a Baray, consists of small temples or prasats on a platform and measures 52 meters by 49 meters.

DAY 14: (Battambang)  Wat Tahm-rai-saw – Phnom Banan – Bamboo Trains – Phnom Sampov – Sunset and Bat cave.

#5 Sunset and Bat cave: 17.45pm when the sun go down, see over 5 million bats all leaving the caves as soon as it’s time for them to hunt for the night.
